To have time for shared discussion and work, we ask all participants to read all workshop papers ahead of the workshop – there will be no formal presentations. To warm up our cheeks, the workshop will begin with engaging with an embarrassing art work provided by the Newcastle Culture Lab. This experience is translated into a collection of questions to be discussed during in a “world café” organized around tables with the posters of the theme clusters as material starting points. Participants will circulate in four twenty-minute rounds among tables each designated to one theme, noting their discussion results on the posters. After lunch, participants will break out into work groups for each theme. Groups will synthesize the world café results in presentation templates with identified issues, best practice suggestions and open research questions. A plenary presentation of group results will collect general observations and plans for follow-up activities.

Blow Up Body Mapping by Matt Wood and Madeline Balaam

An innovative design method devised to get individuals talking about sex. We put a playful spin on the concept of body mapping, with an activity whereby participants to map a landscape of sex and sexuality on some gender-neutral blow up dolls.
